Best Bikram yoga studio out there in the DC area (and I have tried them all). Near Metro, super clean, awesome teachers that really care about the students, great support community and best balanced-heated hot room I have ever been in. They even have lines to place the yoga mats so everyone can get a glance at the mirrors. Love it Love it Love it.
I love this place! I drive an hour and 15 minutes one way! Jennifer the owner is AMAZING and so are all the Staff! I love SWANN and all the stories she shares with us during our meditation. I highly encourage you to check it out!
This is by far the best traditional Bikram Yoga studio! I have lived and practiced all over the country, and I hit the jackpot to have this studio so close to my home. Every teacher is highly trained and amazing, which is the most important thing! It's just perfect, and I highly recommend!!
The place has declined since Jim ran it. The classes started out great and gradually declined over my visitor's week with the new ownership. Class Staff were inconsistent in naming of postures as well as the count of the postures. Kleenex boxes were placed in the classroom so a person would actually get up and walk by you in the classroom dropping their sweat on you in the middle of class. The names involved and called out in class are incredibly suspect. The last time I visited, there was an issue with the girl next to me using the exact same verbiage of a guest speaker at TCU in Texas. Holiday hour changes were not posted on the door until the day of classes. When trying to discuss with the owner, Jennifer, I was cutoff by the instructor who was not even involved in the conversation. Consistent with other behavior elsewhere.
Was visiting the area and wanted to check out this studio as I had heard great things about it. Practiced regularly for the week with three different Staff all of whom were dedicated and passionate about teaching and supporting students of all levels. A wonderful experience which I would highly recommend to new students, those visiting the area or those wishing to explore the wonderful benefits of Bikram Yoga.
This is a truly awesome place to practice yoga. Though the postures are the same, the Staff are very different--providing unique insight and guidance with every practice, making each class a new challenge and a more expressive experience. I can't recommend this place enough--so glad I found it!
I went to take one class at the $25 intro rate. I enjoyed the class. Yes it was challenging but the biggest challenge is the sweat soaked carpet in the hot room and ppl walking around barefoot. It was kind of gross to me. There is no way that floors could be cleaned daily or even between sessions and athlete's feet is my concern. I was not able to get a refund for the intro price because I was told it was actually the cost of one class....so no refund. Guess I should of asked more detailed questions. Also now that I was reminded in remember the documentary of Bikram and the issues around the founder. But anyway. I will continue to find another location for hot yoga. Namasta
I’ve been practicing Bikram for almost ten years. This was my first time practiced in the Alexandria studio. The studio is comfortable and inviting. The instructor, Michael, was knowledgeable, friendly, and patience. It was an awesome workout.
I love this place and people that work there. The place is clean and classes are always on time. I gave 4 starts though just because the hot yoga session is too long, hour and half, and if you try to leave earlier they tell you right in your face that you should plan to stay the entire class which I find it kind of strange and not fair to embarrass you in front of everyone.
I visited here over the weekend and did two classes. It's an old school Bikram studio that feels charming for its wear, and they keep it good and hot like it should be. The two teachers I had were both great. Respectful, supportive, and on point.
Had my first visit to the Alexandria studio - loved it! Friendly staff, comparatively reasonable prices, really good hot room, spacious locker room, hot showers, mats and towels for rent if needed. Oh, and free, plentiful and easy parking! (a rare Bikram gem!) I’ll be back this week!!
IveI'been gone to this place since 10yrs ago when JIM was owner. After Jennifer took over, place is gotten so much cleaner and more organized. Each time I visitv there's different improvements I notice and Hot room doesn't smell like sweaty moldy smells, which most Bikram yoga places have distictibly have and new floor is very nice to help that. Michael has been there long enough to put his heart and love for Bikram yoga since he moved here from NYC.Parking seem to become little hassle by all other businesses next doors but they are keeping themselves grown and continuing good job! 👍🙏🙏 Namaste
I have attended this hot yoga studio for almost 5 years. I the 1st 3 years, I tried other N VA Bikram Yoga studios; however have always been the most pleased with the facilities and consistency of good instructors that have lead the classes at the Alexandria studio. The original owner of the Alexandria studio had started some of the other area Bikram studios, and then conveyed them to qualified owners. The Alexandria studio was his last before he retired; having sold it to Jennifer, the current owner who has ELEVATED the overall QUALITY of this facility, and maintained the tradition of having qualified and caring instructors. If you're looking for a Hot Yoga studio with high standards, and is committed to diversity and inclusiveness, then this is the best Bikram Hot Yoga studio in WDC area; easy to get to with plenty of unrestricted free parking. You may sweat a LOT during the 90 minute session, but you'll leave the 90 minute session knowing you've participated with a whole range of participants that LIKE what this unique place is all about. BRAVO to Jennifer and the staff!
Due to a change in ownership, I recently left Bikram Yoga Falls Church which is now part of Bikram Yoga Alexandria. At the Falls Church studio, I solely did the Hot Pilates classes, which were amazing with incredible instructors. The new owner is not a fan of Hot Pilates (only will offer 90 minute Bikram classes). After assuming ownership, the new owner allowed us to have ONE Hot Pilates class. She then removed all of the Hot Pilates classes from the schedule (while also posting some negative thoughts about the attendees of that Pilates class on her Facebook page). Our understanding was that she was going to allow the Pilates classes to continue through March. What I can't understand is how a small business owner can completely ignore what her customer base wants?! So many of the clients at Bikram Yoga Falls Church attended the Pilates classes. The classes had an extremely loyal and strong following. I've never seen anyone operate a business in this manner.
